Introduction to BOXT Boilers

BOXT boilers are an excellent option when considering upgrading or replacing your existing boiler. Known for their reliability, efficiency and ease of use, BOXT condensing combi boilers in particular have become a popular choice among homeowners.

Energy Efficiency and Cost Savings

BOXT condensing combi boilers can offer efficiency ratings of over 90%, converting almost all the fuel they use into heat for your central heating and hot water system. This increased efficiency could help lower your energy bills compared to an older, standard efficiency boiler.

Reliability and Longevity

Constructed from quality components and rigorously tested during manufacturing, BOXT boilers are built to provide years of reliable service. Many homeowners enjoy over a decade of hassle-free operation from their BOXT boiler with minimal maintenance required.

Compact Size

Unlike traditional boiler systems which consist of a boiler unit and a separate hot water cylinder, BOXT combi boilers provide both heating and hot water in a single compact unit. Combi boilers are ideal where space is limited.

Easy to Use Controls

BOXT boilers feature an intuitive user interface and controls to allow you to easily set timers, heating programmes and hot water use. Managing and tailoring your heating has never been simpler.

The Installation Process

Installing a new BOXT boiler will take a qualified Gas Safe registered heating engineer around 1-2 days depending on the specifics of your home and system requirements. Below are some of the key stages involved:

Survey and Planning

A site survey will determine the best location for your new boiler considering venting, existing pipe runs and electrical connections. Your engineer will also take precautions to protect floors and surfaces during the installation process.

Removal of Old Boiler System

Your existing boiler and hot water cylinder will be disconnected, drained down and removed to make way for the new combi boiler system. Any asbestos present will be safely managed by your engineer.

Installing the New Boiler

The new BOXT combi boiler will be fixed to the wall along with any supplied or required mounting brackets. Additional connections points may be added at this stage if required.

Pipework Alterations

Pipework will likely need resizing and adapting to work with the pressurised sealed combi boiler system. New safety valves also help protect against over pressurisation.

Making Connections

The gas, water, electrical wiring and flue venting will all be securely connected up following safety codes and manufacturer guidance. System tests help identify any issues prior to commissioning.

Commissioning and Certification

Following final checks, your boiler will be turned on, pressurised and commissioned. Your engineer will demonstrate basic operational controls before providing a Gas Safe certification of completion.

Next Steps After Installation

Once your new BOXT boiler is fully installed and running, there are a few next steps we recommend:

Register Your Warranty

Be sure to register the boiler warranty with BOXT to ensure you are covered in the unlikely case of future faults. This also helps BOXT provide any required servicing notifications.

Set Up Controls and Timers

Take time to familiarise yourself with the control panels and set timers to match your daily hot water and heating needs. This helps optimise efficiency.

Book Annual Services

Arranging an annual service check by a Gas Safe engineer will help keep your boiler running safely and efficiently for years to come. Minor adjustments and parts replacements prevent bigger issues.

Spread the Word

If you have enjoyed the installation experience and performance of your BOXT boiler, let friends and neighbours know. Recommendations from satisfied customers provide welcome reassurance to those considering an upgrade.

BOXT Continues to Improve

While BOXT already produces some of the most reliable and efficient gas condensing combi boilers available, they continue to innovate. Recent upgrades include user-friendly touchscreen controls, components to reduce heat loss and smart connectivity for remote monitoring.

BOXT also plans to release an electric combi boiler option later this year – extending comfort, convenience and economy to homes without a mains gas connection.

So whether replacing an existing boiler or installing heating in a new-build property, BOXT products provide an affordable, low carbon solution. Contact a qualified Gas Safe engineer today to discuss upgrading your boiler.
